Intercultural Nursing Seminar with Visiting Students from McMaster University
On June 21, 2026, Monica Barglinski and Muzzammil Hooda, Global Health Visiting Students from McMaster University in Canada, gave a presentation in our Intercultural Nursing Seminar on the Canadian healthcare system and culture.
During the session, they introduced the structure of healthcare delivery in Canada, the role of family physicians, and some of the differences between the Canadian and Japanese healthcare systems. They also shared aspects of everyday life and culture in Canada, drawing on their own experiences.
The session was conducted in English and provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn about healthcare and culture from an international perspective. Through the question-and-answer session, students were also able to deepen their understanding of how cultural and social contexts can influence health, healthcare systems, and people’s experiences of care.
We sincerely thank Monica Barglinski and Muzzammil Hooda for sharing their valuable insights with us.
